The Gathering Place
|
The Gathering Place is Denver’s only daytime drop-in center for women and children who are experiencing homelessness or poverty. At The Gathering Place, on a daily basis we see the desperation that poverty and housing instability cause. On any given evening in Denver, more than 9,000 people have no place to sleep. Of these, 36% are children under the age of 19. The Gathering Place offers a safe daytime refuge to women and children living on the streets of Denver. Our emergency services afford immediate relief to women and children in distress. Once women and children are able to meet their most pressing needs, they can then take the next steps towards rebuilding their lives. For a second straight year The Greek Festival and the Assumption of the Theotokos Metropolis Cathedral of Denver are donating a portion of The Greek Festival profits to The Gathering Place. Last year with your help we donated $31,000 to support The Gathering Place's meals center. We support the mission of The Gathering Place and want to assist them in making a difference in the Denver Metro area. Please join us June 19th, 20th and 21st to help make a difference!
